Bryan C. Cressey

Bryan C. Cressey is a Partner responsible for acquisitions, divestitures and oversight of portfolio companies. Prior to C&C, Bryan co-founded TCB in 1998. Previously, he was one of the founders of the firm that became GTCR. He began his career with First Chicago Equity Group, where he helped pioneer the buy-and-build investment strategy. Bryan's leadership has been recognized by Fortune and Time magazines, and his particular expertise in the healthcare services field is widely acknowledged.

Bryan earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, a JD from Harvard Law School and a BA from the University of Washington. He is also a member of the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame.

 

Peter S. Ehrich

Peter S. Ehrich is a Partner responsible for acquisitions, divestitures and oversight of portfolio companies. Prior to C&C, Peter was a Partner at TCB where he focused primarily on healthcare investing. Previously, Peter was a Principal at Black Diamond Capital Partners where he assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer of a $150 million portfolio company, restructured operations and significantly increased profitability. Peter began his private equity career in 1995 when he joined Aurora Capital Partners as an Associate. Peter was an Analyst in the Corporate Finance Group at Jefferies & Company, Inc. from 1994 to 1995. Prior to his private equity and finance experience, Peter worked in a variety of healthcare businesses, including a hospital, an HMO and a private practice.

Peter earned an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and a BS,  summa cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Ralph Davis

Ralph W. Davis is a Partner responsible for bringing critical legal, structural, regulatory and financial capabilities in-house. Ralph has worked closely with C&C investment professionals and portfolio companies for the last two funds and is joining C&C as a full-time Partner for Fund IV.  Prior to C&C, Ralph was a Partner of Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP, a Nashville-based law firm with a leading healthcare practice, and was a Board Member and Chairman of that firm since 2004. Previously, he was an Associate with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP. He also served as law clerk to The Honorable Gilbert S. Merritt, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Ralph has led an active practice acquiring, selling and financing client businesses in the healthcare industry during his fifteen years with Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis LLP.

Ralph earned a JD from Yale Law School and a BA, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University.

 

Bill Frist

Senator William H. Frist, MD is a Partner and Chairman of the Executive Board responsible for acquisitions, divestitures and oversight of portfolio companies. Senator Frist is the Frederick H. Schultz Class of 1951 Professor of International Economic Policy at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Prior to Princeton, he served as Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate from 2002 until 2007 and as U.S. Senator from the State of Tennessee since 1994, holding seats on the Finance Committee overseeing health policy and the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Prior to the Senate, he was a cardiac surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital, Stanford University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Senator Frist is consistently recognized among the most influential leaders in American healthcare and is one of only two individuals to rank in the top ten of each of the five inaugural Modern Healthcare Magazine annual surveys of the most powerful people in healthcare in the United States.

Senator Frist earned an MD, with honors, from Harvard Medical School and a BA from Princeton University.

 

Stephen C. Phenneger

Stephen C. Phenneger is an Operating Partner responsible for expanding C&C's healthcare practice based on over ten years experience in the healthcare industry. Stephen has worked closely with the C&C investment team and portfolio companies for the last two funds. Prior to C&C, Stephen was a Director in the Transaction Services Group of KPMG in New York. Stephen has provided support to buyers of healthcare businesses through all phases of the deal continuum from sector/industry analysis to investigatory due diligence; deal structuring and contract negotiation through integration and, where applicable, exit strategy analysis.

Stephen earned a BBA from LaSalle University, and he is a Certified Public Accountant.

 

Merrick J. Axel

Merrick J. Axel is a Principal responsible for acquisitions, divestitures and oversight of portfolio companies. Merrick has been working with the C&C team since 2005. Previously, he was part of the investment team at Harvest Partners in New York and, before that, at J.W. Childs & Associates in Boston. Merrick has also worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions department at Morgan Stanley & Co.

Merrick earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB from Duke University.

 

David M. Schuppan

David M. Schuppan is a Principal responsible for acquisitions, divestitures and oversight of portfolio companies. David has been working with the C&C team since 1999 when he joined TCB as an Associate. David rejoined the firm in 2004 after receiving his MBA. David also has been a Summer Associate with the restructuring firm Miller Buckfire Lewis Ying & Co. and an Analyst in the healthcare investment banking group of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc.

David earned an MBA, with honors, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS, summa cum laude, from Indiana University.

 

David M. Rogero

David M. Rogero is a Vice President whose primary responsibility is to help identify, evaluate and execute acquisition and investment opportunities. David has been working with the C&C team since 2002 when he joined TCB as an Associate. David rejoined the firm in 2007 after receiving his MBA. David previously was a Business Development Associate at Whole Health Management, an operator of onsite health and wellness clinics, and an Investment Banking Analyst with the Industrial & Services Group of Credit Suisse First Boston.

David earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA, summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.

 

John W. Mulflur

John W. Mulflur is an Associate whose primary responsibility is to help identify, evaluate and execute acquisition and investment opportunities. John has been working with the C&C team since 2006. Previously, John was an Associate with the investment firm GSO Capital Partners, LP in New York, where he participated in debt and equity financings in a variety of industries. John also has experience as a Financial Analyst with the Global Retail and Consumer Group of Morgan Stanly & Co. in New York, where he worked on acquisitions, buyouts and financings.

John earned a BA from the University of Notre Dame.

 

Jeffrey (Jeff) Yim

Jeffrey Yim is an Associate whose primary responsibility is to help identify, evaluate and execute acquisition and investment opportunities. Jeff has been working with the C&C team since 2005. Previously, he was a Financial Analyst in the Healthcare Corporate Finance Unit at Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin. Jeff also has experience as an Analyst with MetLife's Private Placement Origination Unit and with the E-Commerce Group of Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York.

Jeff earned a BS from Cornell University.
